Zeal & Ardor have released a new version of their track ‘Devil Is Fine’, remixed by French producer Carpenter Brut. The track, titled ‘Devil Is Fine x Carpenter Brut’, is available now via MVKA.
‘Devil Is Fine’ is the title track from Zeal & Ardor’s 2016 album, Devil Is Fine. The original release combined black metal with African American spirituals and work songs. Carpenter Brut is known for his synth-driven sound.
Manuel Gagneux of Zeal & Ardor stated: “Imagine if one of the most capable electronic musicians out there remixed a song of ours. Imagine if that would result in a track that might eclipse the original. Imagine if you could listen to such a thing right now. We give you Devil Is Fine x Carpenter Brut.”
Carpenter Brut added: “Zeal & Ardor have such a distinctive sound so it was a real pleasure to take ‘Devil Is Fine’ into my own world while keeping the spirit of the original.“
Zeal & Ardor’s most recent album, GREIF, was released in 2024. The band recently headlined Switzerland’s Up In Smoke festival. They also released Devil Is Fine X, a remastered reissue of their 2016 debut, which includes five previously unreleased bonus tracks.
Carpenter Brut’s album Leather Temple, the final part of his Leather trilogy, is out now via No Quarter Prod / Virgin Records. He is currently on a worldwide tour.
