Japanese post-hardcore band Heaven In Her Arms have announced their fourth album, The End of Purification, set for release on 13 November via Banshies. The band have also released the lead single, ‘The Moon That Falls Only Here’, accompanied by a music video.
‘The Moon That Falls Only Here’ is nearly six minutes in length. Heaven In Her Arms describe the track as their “response to classic melancholic masterpieces”, noting that it contrasts a “lush, strikingly beautiful chorus” with a middle section that contains “what might be the heaviest, most crushing moment on the record.”
Heaven In Her Arms formed in Tokyo and are known for their three-guitar sound. The band state that their music moves from “violent abrasion to sudden, disarming beauty within a single song.” Their sound is rooted in hardcore, with the band taking their name from a song on Converge‘s Jane Doe album. Their music incorporates distortion, tension, dynamics, and melodic elements.
The band’s live performances feature three guitars and eight speaker cabinets. Heaven In Her Arms have shared stages with envy, MONO, and BORIS. Drummer Rocky also plays with envy. They have also hosted artists such as Deafheaven, Russian Circles, and CELESTE in Japan. The band have toured in Europe and Asia.
Their third album, White Halo, released in 2017, received a 7.7 rating from Pitchfork.
In 2026, Heaven In Her Arms performed twice at Roadburn Festival in the Netherlands.
The End of Purification is described as the band’s “most complete and far-reaching statement yet,” aiming to transform “years of experience, silence and perseverance into something immediate and alive.”
UK and EU dates for 2027 are to be announced.
