Teiger release soaring new single ‘Bloodwork’ with Jo Quail

They are true chameleons of style, Teiger. In the first new release since their luminous self-titled debut album in 2023, the London band shows itself fully in control of their sound and aesthetic.  ‘Bloodwork’, off a hopefully-soon upcoming album, carefully weaves darkness and chaos with the strange and the gentle.

Produced by David Castillo (most known for his work with Opeth) and recorded at Studio Gröndahl, you can hear the space the drums are allowed to have, as well as the turn into much heavier psychedelic rock territory compared to their previous material. It’s one of their more cinematic pieces, with the dramatic claps, echoing fast montages and movie trails. Talie Eigeland’s voice sweeps over it all, like the siren she’s oft likened to.

From the explosive chorus, Jo Quail’s cello arrives with ominous trepidation, like a hawk circling prey, grounded by the steady drums. You can almost see the sound waves floating in and out of each other, as the tension builds, the rhythm changes and the song bursts into a full prog rock breakdown.

The single comes at a pivotal moment for Teiger. They have already earned widespread attention across the UK scene, including support from BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing, a sold-out vinyl release via Rough Trade, and nominations for Hard Rock Hell Best New Band and Radio Wigwam’s Best Indie Rock award. They have also become a notable presence on the UK festival circuit, with appearances at Cambridge Rock, Desertfest 2026 (read our review HERE), Portals and many others.

Now their collaboration with Jo Quail, internationally acclaimed for her solo work and myriad performances (I first heard her play in opening for Wardruna), expands on their established unpredictable soundscape, confirming that there’s no guessing where they’ll go next.
