Bayside release Christmas single ‘Best Christmas Yet’

Bayside have released a new holiday single called ‘Best Christmas Yet’. The band are Anthony Raneri (vocals, guitar), Jack O’Shea (guitar, vocals), Nick Ghanbarian (bass, vocals) and Chris Guglielmo (drums). You can watch and listen to the song here.

The song opens with seasonal bells before Raneri‘s vocals come in. The band have also put out another holiday track, a take on a Christmas classic, which is available here.

Raneri explains the thinking behind the song: “We wrote ‘Best Christmas Yet’ to address what the holidays are really about to us, being with the people you love and who love you back. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves during the holidays to have a specific kind of time or for them to look and feel idealistic and most of the Christmas songs out there paint that unrealistic, idealistic picture. We thought there should be a song about what the holidays are really about.”

Earlier this year, the band issued EPs that each a band member curated and selected, with artwork designed by the same member. Each collection also included a B-side from Killing Time, released in 2011. The track had only been available on vinyl and had never been released digitally.

Bayside have been active for 25 years. Their albums with Victory Records include Sirens and Condolences (2004), Self-Titled (2005), The Walking Wounded (2007) and Shudder (2008). Their later releases, from the Wind-Up and Hopeless Records years, are Killing Time (2011), Cult (2014), Vacancy (2016), Interrobang (2019) and There Are Worse Things Than Being Alive (2024).

In 2023, the band worked with Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills on ‘How To Ruin Everything (Patience)’. It was their first song to chart at SiriusXM Octane.
