Coheed and Cambria returns to London with “Welcome to Forever” tour

Not too long ago, Coheed and Cambria were playing a very exclusive acoustic set on the other side of the town to promote their new album, just a bit of a taster. Thankfully, they are now back with the main course: a full production show that honours the Father of Make Believe.

Before they take the stage, British alternative sensation unpeople, who released their debut album last year, dazzles the audience with their excellent blend of pop-punk and heavy metal, whilst post-rock veterans And So I Watch You From Afar, coming from Northern Ireland, tones thing down a bit with their instrumental experimental rock.

As Claudio Sanchez and the band enters the stage, O2 Academy Brixton is packed with fans from all ages and styles. You can see shirts from Limp Bizkit, MCR, Haken and even the most unreadable Black Metal logos that you can imagine.

The opener “Goodbye, Sunshine”, with its amazing visuals in the background and lighting on stage sets the tone for the rest of the evening. The set is comprised mostly of the last two albums plus a few classics, and there’s also time for Mr. Bightside!

Coheed and Cambria have established themselves long ago, but it’s always a fresh concert composed of incredibly talented individuals, that when together make it for a unique experience.

Claudio promises they’ll be back soon, but not before asking the crowd to be as loud as they can — a request the audience grants instantly.
