It’s Saturday, the 1st of August, and as the sun hits the gorgeous The Piece Hall in Halifax, fans from around the UK and the world slowly start to arrive in the city, either waiting in the queue or having a pint at the local pubs.
Opeth decided to go all out on their summer tour of “The Last Will and Testament“, choosing some of the most beautiful and historical sites around Europe, such as the Anfiteatro romano di Pompei in Italy, Dalhalla in Sweden, and The Piece Hall in Halifax.
As part of this special occasion, the town’s own Paradise Lost and the Swedish prog rockers from Katatonia served as the opening act for the evening, followed by Opeth playing an efficient set with tracks from the latest album and some of the fans’ favourites such as “The Grand Conjuration” and “The Drapery Falls”.
