Black Veil Brides brought both nostalgia and a blast into their new era to The Dome, London through their special “The Un-veiling” intimate show!
First to hit the stage though were local rockers Saint Agnes, hailing from Silvertown, East London. Straight from the first moment they came on stage, the atmosphere was one of energy and anarchy, with Jon James Tufnell (guitar) jumping around the stage like a man possessed. The rest of the band; Andy Head (drums), Ryan Brown (bass) and Kitty A. Austen (vocals); did not let the side down either, matching this energy all the way.
Saint Agnes played a selection of some their most up and coming songs, including; ‘Get Them Out’, ‘Bloodsuckers’, ‘The Ghost’, ‘Good Boy’ and ‘The Beast’. It was a very short set but it sure got the crowd hyped up and ready for the headliner!
Headlining the show were the much anticipated Black Veil Brides, appearing only a matter of days after a whirlwind Download Festival Apex Stage set, where much of their newest work saw its UK live debut. As soon as the trademark Dracula based instrumental began to play to introduce the band, you could practically feel the electricity of the crowd of dedicated fans who’d secured their place at this unique intimate show. A wave of cheering, screaming and clapping welcomed Jake (guitar), Jinx (guitar) and Lonny (bass) to the stage, quickly followed by Wade Murff who is currently covering for CC (Christian Coma) on drums while he takes a temporary step back from touring due to personal issues. We then finally saw Andy (vocals) joining the rest of the band with the packed room rocking at this point.
The band blasted straight into old-school fan favourite ‘Knives and Pens’ to begin things, which was an instantly nostalgic crowd pleaser. The special thing about this show as part of the unique Un-veiling mini-tour is that after every song there was a little Q&A session, where the fans and the band had the rare opportunity of just talking directly to each other, with fans encouraged to ask pretty much whatever they wanted. I wasn’t at all surprised to hear the question of “Are you a vampire?” asked of Andy; his reaction giving away that it may not be the first time that question has been asked! Despite this, the atmosphere was one of good humour, with the answer being “yes” to which the room cheered.

Black Veil Brides went on to play some of the new material from their brand new album Vindicate. Everyone seemed excited to hear the new songs; ‘Bleeders’, ‘Hallelujah’, ‘Vindicate’ and ‘Certainty’ on the live stage, before the band moved on to play some of their older hits, including ‘Rebel Love Song’ and ‘Wake Up’. They also played their newest track ‘Revenger’, which was followed up with another little Q&A, where a fan asked the band which of their songs was their favourite to perform live – to satisfy your curiosity, the answer was ‘Revenger’. Andy also spotted a fan wearing a Creeper t-shirt, to whom he teased “I love Creeper, maybe we’ll have them supporting us in January when we come back”. Andy was very quick to add “Not saying it will 100% happen but it would be cool”. Black Veil Brides and Creeper looked a match made in heaven (or hell!), when jointly appearing at Halloween 2024’s Devil’s Night one-off show at the OVO Arena, Wembley, so a reunion would certainly be something special!
After a sample of ‘Saviour’ was played, Andy informed the audience that the next song would be a live debut of 2013’s ‘Wretched and Divine’ , which I joined the ecstatic crowd in singing my heart out to (not that I didn’t for all the previous ones!). Black Veil Brides ended the night with their signature closing number, ‘In The End’. For me, this is always a bittersweet moment, because the appearance of this personally meaningful favourite means the end of another brilliant show.
I cannot describe how much I loved my experience at this intimate and interactive gig; it was an amazing opportunity for their dedicated fanbase to actually spend time with the band and just build that little bond. We got to ask questions ranging between insightful and loopy, while hearing some funny stories back from the band. I’d absolutely jump at the chance to attend another show in this format, really getting to connect with some of the biggest names in modern rock. For just the music itself, Black Veil Brides never disappoint with their live shows; you can feel just how much the support of their fans means to them and they are determined to give it all back. The band are returning to the UK for a run of shows in early 2027 – based on this, I can’t wait to see what they have in store.
