Headwreck – The Waterfront, Norwich – 16/06/2026

Headwreck, a Brisbane-based nu-metal band, recently signed to Empire and hopped on their first UK/EU run including tour dates with Paledusk, Silly Goose and Thrown, as well as playing Download Festival and a few headline shows.

Despite it being the last day of tour, Headwreck graced the stage, with no signs of slowing down, in Norwich and gave it their all. They immediately grasped the packed-out venue’s attention by playing the Wii song as their intro before leading into ‘Filet-o-fish’. They brought the energy from the get-go and had the crowd jumping and singing along for their whole set, occasionally stopping to take in Jamo Benadie‘s (guitar, vocals) softer vocals before getting straight back to head banging.

The contrast between Connor Hickman‘s hip-hop/ nu-metal vocals and growls with Jamo‘s cleaner vocals created the perfect dynamic to keep the set flowing and the crowd engaged. The one thing that was evident throughout was how much they wanted this and how much they enjoyed just being on stage together.

Just when you thought they’d demonstrated everything they had to show, they all swapped instruments to perform a cover of LINKIN PARK‘s ‘Lying From You’ before diving into their latest single ‘Raindrops’ which is a fun play on Ludacris’ ‘Move Bitch’ and was a massive hit with the crowd. Once again Connor switched between many different vocal styles effortlessly, accompanied by additional growls from bassist Dayne Paix before Jamo cut back in with breathtaking vocals that rippled throughout the venue as the mosh pits came to a stop to take them in, before being hit with heavy guitar riffs, immediately resuming the mosh pits.

Often drummers get forgotten about at the back of the stage but Colby Horton made sure everyone was aware of his presence with heavy breakdowns, snare bombs and lots of crowd interaction. They wrapped up their set with ‘Razor’ which features such devastatingly beautiful lyrics and ‘Buzzsaw’ which brought the energy right back up before leaving the stage.

I have no doubt this band will be massive in a few years so I highly recommend checking out their album ‘Attitude Adjustment‘ now! Upcoming tour dates can be found here.
