NEW RELEASE: BACK OUTSIDE BY PRIVATE SCHOOL

Private School are a Los Angeles based band that infuses alternative rock with a sharp edge of hip hop influence, fronted by Jacob Mullins (lead vocalist), Breno O’Malley (drummer), and Alexander Delgado (guitarist). Signed to the label “In Bloom”, they fuse gritty guitar energy with laid-back flows, creating a sound in the music scene that feels raw, modern, and unpredictable.  Their latest release, “Back Outside,” feels like a significant moment, less an introduction, more a statement of intent. At a time when genre lines are more flowing than ever, Private School lands right in the middle of that shift, making music that reflects how people listen now.

The track “Back Outside” focuses on contrast. The production is clean enough to hit hard but still leaves room for grit, giving the track a raw, immediate edge. Guitars land with a punchy weight, while the rhythm section carries a bounce rooted in hip hop. There are influences of Limp Bizkit in the attitude and groove, particularly in how the track blends aggression with swagger, but Private School push it forward rather than looking back.

Vocally, the tracks stand out for their range. The delivery moves between melodic hooks and a more rhythmic, almost spoken flow, adding unpredictability without losing its cohesion. It’s this freedom of space that gives the song its character; nothing feels locked into one lane, and that freedom keeps the energy flowing throughout.

What makes Private School distinct isn’t just the fusion of styles, but how naturally it comes together. There’s no sense of overthinking, no forced nostalgia or overproduction. Instead, they lean into a stripped-back confidence, letting each element speak for itself while maintaining a clear identity.

That identity is arriving on a bigger stage. With the band set to head to the UK for Download Festival, they’re stepping into an international spotlight at the right time. Their sound which feels energetic and unfiltered, feels built for audiences beyond their home base, marking the start of a growing global presence and fanbase.

At its core, “Back Outside” is more than just a single, it’s a statement of who Private School are and where they are headed. With Jacob Mullins’ dynamic vocals, Alexander Delgado’s punchy guitar work, and Breno O’Malley’s driving rhythms, the Los Angeles trio seamlessly fuse alternative rock grit with hip hop swagger, creating a sound that feels both immediate and forward-thinking. Their ability to honour influences like Limp Bizkit while forging their own identity is what sets them apart, and their upcoming UK performance at Download Festival signals a growing international reach.

“Back Outside” portrays the energy, attitude, and versatility of a band on the rise, unapologetically hybrid, boldly original, and relevant, making Private School a band to watch now and in the years to come. It captures a sense of urgency, creating a generation that is eager to break those boundaries and redefine genre conventions. There’s a rawness to their delivery that feels authentic rather than paired with a tight, polishes execution that reflects their dedication to craft.

As they continue to build momentum, Private School are carving out a lane that refuses to be boxed in, embracing contradiction and blending sonic textures in a way that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new. “Back Outside” is not just an introduction, it’s a declaration, a confident step forward that hint at even bigger, louder, and more progressive things on the horizon.
