Arcane Roots and Maruja lead new wave of artists for ArcTanGent 2026
ArcTanGent Festival returns to Fernhill Farm near Bristol this August with a massive list of new bands. The award-winning festival, which runs from the 19th to the 22nd of August, is known for its mix of rock, metal, math rock, and post-rock.
The biggest news in this update is the return of Arcane Roots. The band recently reformed and released their first new music in seven years. As one of the most requested acts in the festival’s history, their main stage performance is expected to be a major moment for this year.
Joining them are Maruja, an experimental rock band from Manchester who are quickly becoming one of the most talked-about groups in the country. Other new additions include Nordic Giants, known for their impressive visuals, US shoegaze band Nothing, and a UK exclusive set from Eivør. The list continues with Jamie Lenman, Master Boot Record, Pupil Slicer, and many others.
Festival organiser James Scarlett says that 2026 is officially the best-selling year in the festival’s history. He mentioned that it is great to have artists like Eivør and Nothing joining for the first time, while also seeing returning acts like Maruja and Mass of the Fermenting Dregs move into much bigger slots on the bill. He added that having Arcane Roots back for an exclusive performance is a special moment for the team.
These new names join the existing headliners Chelsea Wolfe, Primus, and Cult of Luna & Julie Christmas, who are performing their album Mariner. Other acts already confirmed include Napalm Death, Alcest, Svalbard, and many more.
