Møl at Camden Underworld, London 2026

A Danish sandwich greets us tonight at Camden Underworld, an iconic venue in its own right within the London metal scene. And as the room fills with audience members wearing ArcTanGent festival merchandise, we can start to profile the sound of evening under the broader post-metal umbrella as the lineup is truly an enticing one.

Cold Night for Alligators

Cold Night for Alligators are opening tonight all the way from Copenhagen following the back of their newly released album With All That’s Left. Tonight marks a brief celebration of that whilst avoiding material from their early records.  Johan Pedersen is the star on stage here, jumping around whilst belting out his vocal lines to the gentle nods of those near the front as the venue continues to fill up.

Tayne

Secondly it’s Tayne – a three piece from London bringing a moodier, darker, more seductive slice of heavy with a splash of industrial noise. Heavy filthy, dirty, sludgy, with plenty of moments when that riff comes back but just a little bit slower. The venue is dimly lit with a sea of headbangers visible from all angles as the nods continue throughout their set with mosh pits teetering on breaking out.

Møl

But what we’re all here to see is the completion of the Danish sandwich with headliners Møl taking to the stage hailing from Aarhus. Having risen in popularity, their 3rd album Dreamcrush was recently released last month, and this tour is giving allowing the band to showcase the new tracks.

However, something changed in the air the moment they played their first notes. Whilst the sound for the previous bands was reasonable, the clarity and mix of the instruments became so much more crisp in the room. Perhaps due to a change in sound engineer, or just expert tone crafting from the guitar department inside of Møl. It certainly led to our ears perking up!

Vocalist Kim Song Sternkopf has one of the most emotive faces in the scene, and can’t help but scrangle it up in weird and wonderful ways – he’s truly encapsulating to look at in the best way possible! And that’s before he opens his mouth and sings with his rather unique vocal timbre that fits oh so appropriately amongst the arrangements of the songs. Clearly, the band members are made for each other.

Part way through the set the mosh pits start to kick off, and the energy kicks off in the now very full up room. Sweat runs down our face, and Møl shows us how it’s done expertly drifting through heavy and clean sections of their material.

The band finish with Bruma from the their 2nd record – another great example of contrast in their compositions that carries so effectively to a live scenario with the cutout at the end leaving the sound of nothing but applause and cheers from the patrons of the evening.

Still relatively early in their careers with only 3 albums under their belt, we can’t wait to see what lands next for this band as this evening was truly quite super – and it’s clear they have plenty more to give on a bigger stage next time they come round on tour.
