Black Veil Brides have kicked off 2026 in the most forward way possible, through releasing powerful and cinematic new single “Certainty” accompanied by a visually spectacular and on-theme music video.

Black Veil Brides - Certainty

After the release of the spiritually inspired “Hallelujah” back in July 2025, Black Veil Brides have taken fans by surprise with a beast of a release in the form of “Certainty” on the evening of, 8th January 2026. Black Veil Brides’ frontman Andy Biersack shared, through a direct email to the fans, that “the concept of Certainty is central to this record and appears throughout the album. The song was inspired by the film “Conclave”, particularly its reflections on religious certainty and how rigid belief systems can become prisons of our own making. When certainty hardens, curiosity, growth and the willingness to change become impossible. Much of today’s political and social discourse exists inside these echo chambers of absolute belief, and that tension drives the narrative of this record”.

This was the final song written and recorded for the album. It started from an idea Jake sent over, and it came together quickly over the course of a few days. It felt essential both narratively and musically, capturing the overall tone of what we’re aiming for

The striking music video to accompany “Certainty” was directed by George Gallardo Kattah, who has also directed videos for Maneskin and The Plot In You, just to name a couple; the video was shot in Bogota, Colombia while the band was touring Latin America in 2025. Biersack also adds “the music video… is one of our favourites we’ve ever done. His (Gallardo Kattah’s) interpretation of fear and pride as biblical twins is stunning, and the visuals are incredible”.

We have to agree with Biersack on this one; this is probably the most ambitious music video that Black Veil Brides has ever released, and the theming alongside the track is perfect. It’s just the right level of abstract, being packed with visual metaphors that would not look out of place in an avant-garde movie release. Considering the outstanding quality of the single releases so far in “Certainty”, “Hallelujah” and “Bleeders”; we’re bursting with excitement for an upcoming studio album.
