Wind Rose, Orden Ogan and Angus McSIX at Electric Brixton, London 14/10/2025

‘Twas a late cold October afternoon. As the sun was setting down, the space around Electric Brixton kept getting more lively, and suddenly a horde of dwarves spawned and started roaming around and about. This is not a fiction, this was a real-life scenario for the fans of Wind Rose and any passerbys, as the band’s Trollslayer tour evening was swiftly approaching. The Italian five-piece returned to London for yet another show-stopping performance and were welcomed pompously, as the concert, as many others on their tour, was completely sold-out. Bringing the power-metal machines Orden Ogan and Angus McSIX with them, the evening was bound to be unforgettable from the moment the doors opened.

Angus McSIX

Openers of the evening, the almighty AngusMcSIX, captivated the crowd with their enthusiasm and raw energy, as this was their premiere in the United Kingdom. The band, founded very recently in 2021, is consisting of ‘The Archdemon Seebulon’ Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann (guitar, bass, backing vocals), ‘Prince Adam McSIX’ Sam Nyman (vocals), ‘Ork Zero’ Gerit Lamm (drums) and ‘The Dwarf’ Jasmin Pabst (guitar), the four-piece delivered memorable riffs, striking vocals and unforgettable drums. Although their set was not very long and the staging was simple, they managed to make the floor, that was already very busy, go feral with their hits The Fire Of Yore and Laser-Shooting Dinosaur and it is certain that their first impression overseas was taken more than positively.

Orden Ogan

The main support band of the night were the well established  and known Orden Ogan. Hailing from Germany, the symphonic power-metal band brought their latest album The Order Of Fear, as well as the mastership of its members Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann (guitar, keyboard, lead vocals), Niels Löffler (guitar), Dirk Meyer-Berhorn (drums), Steven Wussow (bass) and Patrick Sperling (guitar) into London, ensuring the crowd was even more excited about the headline set that was about to come. From their all-time favourites like Gunman and The Things We Believe In to some of their newer pieces like Conquest and The Order Of Fear, the band offered something for all their fans and absolutely gained more during the evening as well.

Wind Rose

When the lights dimmed and the big skull on the stage started pouring fog out of its mouth, an Italian techno song started echoing throughout the full venue, and it has sent the crowd into a frenzy, as that meant that Wind Rose was about to come out any minute. Transitioning into the Of Ice and Blood intro, followed directly by the first song Dance Of The Axes, it was hard to believe the moment finally came, but from there, the band members Francesco Cavalieri (lead vocals), Claudio Falconcini (guitar, backing vocals), Federico Meranda (keyboards), Cristiano Bertocchi (bass, backing vocals) and Federico Gatti (drums) gave their everything to the fans and they sang all lyrics and interacted throughout the whole set in return. Although the Trollslayer tour was meant to promote their latest album that is bearing the same title, and has delivered a number of songs from the album such as The Great Fest Underground, To Be a Dwarf and Trollslayer, the band surely did not hold back with their older songs as well, as they played the hits Army of Stone, Mine Mine Mine!, Gates of Ekrund, The Returning Race, To Erebor, The King Under The Mountain and Together We Rise.

The lead singer Cavalieri had some issues with his earpiece earlier into the show as well, but it did not affect the overall performance, as the issue was resolved within minutes. Wind Rose has surprised the crowd with a special guest for their all-time favourite hit Diggy Diggy Hole, and has invited the author of the original song, Yogscast, onto the stage, who was welcomed by a sea of inflammable pick-axes, that were visible throughout the whole Electric Brixton the whole evening and are now a staple of the band’s shows, as they were also selling them at the merchandise table. The set was finished with another hit from the latest album, Rock and Stone, that was followed by a dance remix, leaving the dwarf metal fans in a high spirit and excitement from what can be only described as a proof that Wind Rose is one of the leading bands, when it comes to modern power-metal.
