Snayx and their Strutfast Tour came to London’s Underworld

Snayx

Underworld is a great venue if you want to get up close and personal with some of your favourite artists. With no photo pit and the stage practically in your face, it makes for an intense and unforgettable experience. And when a band like Brighton’s Snayx comes to town, you know you’ll be brushing elbows with the vocalist right in the middle of the mosh pit. Known for their hands-on approach and ability to stir up a crowd, it was an absolute riot of an evening. Their UK Strutfast tour with Soapbox came to an end, but we’re still processing that wild, chaotic, ridiculously fun night.

Snayx

Snayx are quickly making a name for themselves with infectious, high-octane songs. They’re basically a walking party cannon. When I saw them stroll out from backstage, champagne in hand, I knew the crowd was about to boil over after a slow simmer between sets. Not even two songs in, the first crowd surfer landed on my head, risking it all. Their setlist is now packed with instant hits, including their latest stomper “Strut” and a superb cover of The Prodigy’s “Breathe,” which merged beautifully with their raw punk energy.

The atmosphere was electric, with some of the biggest smiles I’ve seen at a live show in a long time. The constant energy of Snayx’s set fueled countless pits, and even towards the end, their vocalist managed to incite a circle pit that tore through the crowd. Limbs were flying, sweat was pouring, and fans singing along kept pulling him off the stage, he could barely stay on it. In true hardcore fashion, some fans climbed up on stage only to leap off and be carried across the room by raised hands. That kind of connection and community spirit is unbeatable.

Snayx fans are diverse, reflecting London’s vibrant, all-ages community. Their shows aren’t just for the youngsters, though they were definitely the most energetic. That night had audacity, chaos, and a real sense that British punk is still very much alive. Next up, Snayx are joining Skindred and Dead Pony on their upcoming UK tour. Don’t miss it.

Soapbox

Soapbox were forged in the same fires as Snayx, and together they created an unforgettable evening. Though the bands are based on opposite ends of the UK, you could feel the familial bond between them, especially when the Soapbox crew charged onstage during Snayx’s set, causing some of the wildest scenes that wouldn’t be out of place in punk’s greatest historical moments. Later, you could spot them in the mosh pit, right there with the crowd.

Soapbox’s set was pure rage and raw emotion. I could feel the anger and passion pouring out of every track. This Scottish band makes me excited about what other punk gems are operating up north. Their lyrics screamed into our faces hit hard, with the vocalist spending as little time on stage as anyone else. At one point, we were all tangled in the mic wires, scrambling around and buzzing from the energy. What sealed it for me was the content: tackling inequality and injustice in today’s world is a message that matters. And in that moment, I knew I was among people who get it.

I’m a new fan and you should be too.
