Beauty School Dropout – The 100 Club, London – 10/09/2025

Setting the tone for the evening was Stereo Cupid, a Rock n Roll band who have been doing the rounds recently, garnering a solid fanbase in the process and I can see why! They brought raw, unfiltered energy from the very start of their set. All the band members had amazing stage presence demonstrated through a series of spin kicks and punk jumps which were reciprocated by the fans in the crowd. They had groovy riffs and smooth vocals which really captivated the crowd’s attention. 

Then it was finally time for Beauty School Dropout‘s long-awaited return to the UK. Having sold out Camden Assembly immediately and upgrading to the 100 club for their album release show, it was well worth the 2 year wait! 

From the moment they stepped on stage, chaos ensued with mosh pits, stage divers and crowd surfers. They started with singles ‘FEVER’,’ON YOUR LIPS’ and ‘TWO OF US’ from their album ‘WHERE DID ALL THE BUTTERFLIES GO?’, released last week before taking us back to their first EP ‘BOYS DO CRY’ with ‘Coming Down’ and ‘Slipping Away’. The crowd never stopped moving and singing every single lyric back to them, the entire show. 

Bringing it back to the new album with ‘SEX APPEAL’, ‘XXX’ and the live debut for ‘MADONNA’ had everyone shouting the lyrics back and being unafraid to let loose and enjoy themselves as the band showcased their musical talents and authentic selves unapologetically in front of the sold-out venue. 

‘CITY NEVER SLEEPS’ and ‘Scarlett letter’ appeared to be fan favourites with the sheer volume increase that ensued as they went crazy which only increased further when they surprised us with Royal & the Serpent joining them on stage for ‘starphucker’. The excited screeches that the fans let out in disbelief were otherworldly, before continuing with ‘blow my high’ from ‘READY TO EAT’ (their 2023 album) which was an unreleased song last time they played in over here, the setlist was a perfect mix of their full discography and flowed so nicely. 

‘LMTFA’ also got its live debut in London, Colie Hutzler‘s screams were even more phenomenal live, chorused by the fans letting out their frustrations in the mosh pits. The mood was then lightened by ‘HEART AWAY’ before finishing out their set with ‘WE MADE PLANS & GOD LAUGHED’, ‘A$$A$$IN’ AND ‘FIGHT MODE’, their most intense songs which always go hard live. Colie jumped into the pit ‘opening it like a cyclone’, for the last song before falling back on stage and taking Bardo out with him. 

They left the stage as the true rockstars they are, leaving the crowd chanting for more. They really displayed how these new songs were created to be performed live and I’m sure I speak for everyone at the London show, when I say we can’t wait to have them back again!
