Grinding Gear Games has released Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt, the first major content update for its free-to-play action RPG, now live for players in the UK and worldwide. This update introduces the Huntress, a fierce new class who wields spears in both melee and ranged combat, supported by wild beast companions for a fluid, tactical playstyle.
New Class and Ascendancies
The Huntress brings a hybrid combat approach that rewards agility and positioning. Players can further customise their builds with five new Ascendancies, including the Ritualist, who uses blood magic and sacrifices, and the Lich, who channels raw chaos energy. These specialisations allow for deeper personalisation and strategic variety across different playstyles.
Endgame Overhaul and Loot Systems
The endgame experience has been reworked to include updated mechanics, a range of new Unique Maps, and upgraded Towers that provide more rewarding challenges. Over 100 new support gems, such as Haemocrystals, Caltrops, and Enormity, expand the diversity of possible skill combinations. More than 100 new Unique items have been added for mid and late game, including the game’s first Unique Charms. Enhanced crafting options and powerful runes bring added depth to gear progression and item customisation.
Players can also face off against Rogue Exiles, agile opponents with dodge rolls, smart targeting, and fast-paced AI behaviour, creating PvP-style battles with real loot rewards. These dynamic encounters offer high-stakes action and valuable gear for those who survive.
Twitch Drops and Free Rewards
Players in the UK can unlock exclusive in-game cosmetics by watching Path of Exile 2 streams via Twitch. From 4 April at 8PM BST to 12 April at 1PM BST, three hours of watch time earns the Azmeri Noble Deer Pet. A second drop period runs from 13 April at 1PM BST to 19 April at 1PM BST, offering the Hunter’s Trophy Back Attachment and Honour Guard Rhoa Mount after three additional hours of viewing. Linking your Path of Exile and Twitch accounts is required to claim the rewards.
