The Last The Dead South show in London was memorable because of the diverse audience — fans ranged from metal and rock enthusiasts to those who swear by folk and country tunes. As expected at a The Dead South gig, many attendees embraced the band’s signature style with white shirts, black suspensories, and even the occasional western gambler hat.
Corb Lund
The evening started with the Canadian singer-songwriter Corb Lund, backed by a band featuring cello, harmonica, guitar, and drums. His set perfectly set the tone for the night, drawing everyone into the laid-back yet engaging atmosphere.
The Dead South
Then came The Dead South themselves, supporting their latest album Chains and Stakes. Their performance was even more impressive than their recorded work, filled with energy that got the entire crowd singing along. My highlights were “That Bastard Son,” which had the audience clapping and singing the chorus, and “In Hell ,I’ll be in Good Company,” a song that has a reason for being so popular, being one of the fans’ favourites. The encore was a brilliant finish to the night, with “Broken Cowboy” and “Banjo Odyssey” leaving everyone wanting more!
